On n’est que deux finalement pour cette randonnue sur la montagne de Couspeau dans la Drôme. Il est vrai que le temps est couvert. Le rendez vous est à proximité du col de la Chaudière. Quelques centaines de mètres sur la route puis un chemin s’engage dans la forêt. La montée est parfois bien raide et l’on est vite réchauffé. Les vêtements tombent. Le parcours alterne replats et raidillons jusqu’à la sortie sur l’alpage. Là, un vent froid nous cueille sur la crête. Au loin, on aperçoit un animal qui se découpe sur le ciel. On continue de monter. Au détour du chemin, on tombe sur trois chèvres qui s’éloignent tranquillement dans la pente au dessus des barrières rocheuses. On arrive au sommet du Grand Delmas, le point culminant de cette montagne de Couspeau. Le panorama à 360° est masqué par les nuages. dommage! Je sais qu’une geocache attend depuis plus d’un an et demi. Elle est vite trouvée, mais l’ouverture et la fermeture de cette boite métallique sont difficiles. J’en ai les mains gelées. Alain, lui, s’est rhabillé. Demi tour pour trouver un coin à l’abri du vent pour le casse croûte. On mange avec le massif des Trois Becs juste en face de nous. Les chèvres, curieuses, viennent nous observer. Parfois un rayon de soleil illumine tout de même le paysage et nous offre un semblant de chaleur. A mi pente dans la descente, on décide d’aller explorer quelques chemins. D’abord une vieille piste qui nous mène à une large route forestière. Plutôt que de suivre celle ci, on pique dans les bois pour rejoindre en contrebas un chemin presque abandonné, mais pas tout à fait puisqu’un affût de chasseur y est installé. Arrivé sous le col de la Chaudière, il nous faut remonter par un sentier humide jusqu’à déboucher à notre point de départ.

We arrive at the top of the Grand Delmas, the culminating point of this mountain of Couspeau. The panorama in 360° is masked by clouds. pity! I know that a geocache waits for more than one year and half. It is quickly found, but the opening and closing of this metal box is difficult. My hands are freezing. Alain, on the other hand, got dressed. Half turn to find a corner sheltered from the wind for the snack. One eats with the massif of Three Becs right in front of us. The goats, curious, come to observe us. Sometimes a ray of sun illuminates all the same the landscape and offers us a semblance of heat. In half slope in the descent, we decide to go to explore some paths. First an old track which leads us to a wide forest road. Rather than to follow this one, we plunge in the woods to join below a way almost abandoned, but not quite because a hunter’s post is installed there. Arrived under the pass of Chaudière, we have to go up by a wet path until we reach our starting point.
